Photos: Finley Wildlife

After several months of distractions (family time, earning a living, etc) I finally spent a morning back at my favorite stomping grounds, Finley NWR. Located just south of Corvallis, OR. No elk this time, but there were the usual rabbits and a ton of Flickers (woodpeckers). This Pileated woodpecker was spotted about half way along the "avenue" between Bruce road and the old quarry. He was a bit distracted so I managed to edge close enough to snap a few shots. A flock of turkeys was also browsing one of the Christmas tree farms that skirt the refuge.
